Prestatyn Beach Trip

We’re excited to be taking children on a fantastic day trip to Prestatyn Beach; a great opportunity to kickstart the summer by the seaside.

We have been very fortunate to have secured some funding to cover the majority of the trip, which means we can offer such a low cost for families.

Throughout the day, children will take part in a range of fun, supervised beach activities including sandcastle building, group games, and paddling at the shoreline (feet only). There will also be time to explore the promenade, enjoy an ice cream, and take part in relaxed activities with their group.

We will be travelling by coach and the day will be carefully structured to ensure children are safe, engaged, and having fun at all times, with our experienced staff team supervising in small groups throughout.

Safety briefing, risk assessments and any other finer details that you need to know will be shared closer to the event.

Please ensure your child brings a rucksack with the following items:

• Refillable water bottle

• Suitable clothing and shoes for the weather

• Sun cream and a hat

• A small towel (for paddling – feet only)

• Spare clothes

• Any required medication (clearly labelled and handed to staff with instructions)

Children may bring a small amount of spending money if they wish (for arcades or souvenirs), which must be kept in a named, zipped purse or wallet. Please let staff know on the day that your child has spending money.

Please note this is a busy, open public environment and children must be able to remain with their group and follow instructions at all times; unfortunately, this trip may not be suitable for children who are at risk of absconding, as we cannot guarantee their safety in this setting.

The coach journey could take 2.5 - 3 hours each way, so please bare this in mind if your child suffers with travel sickness.

The arrival back to MDJS is approximate depending on traffic and parents will be updated when we are 30 minutes away by email via our booking site. Please ensure we don't end up in your junk mail! We will also use the site to let parents know we have arrived safely at the beach as well as other updates if needed.

The trip includes return coach travel, lunch, and an ice cream or sweet treat. A lunch order form will be sent out closer to the event.

We will be looking for a number of parent volunteers to join us for the day to help with groups. Lunch is included for you too! If you are interested in joining us, drop us an email after you have booked your child on and we will pick at random if too many parents sign up!
